There are 10 categories plus the overall winner award. Each entrant will need to answer 3 key questions and provide a summary of their submission and supporting information see criteria.

1. Peaceful and Better Neighbourhood Award

For the most impressive neighbourhood regeneration or improvement led by a Federation member.

2. Best Neighbour Award

Sponsored by Northern Counties Housing Association

This is for a tenant or resident who has made the most outstanding contribution to making their neighbourhood a better place to live.

3. Local Engagement and Involvement Award

Sponsored by Midland Heart

The Local Engagement & Involvement Award celebrates housing associations that connect with their tenants and engage them in decision making, either across the whole neighbourhood or in a specific part of the community.Awarded to an organisation for the most effective engagement with tenants and local people. May be for all customers or for a specific group, such as women, members of ethnic minorities or young people.

4. Communications Award

Awarded to an organisation for the best use of communications to promote iN business for neighbourhoods messages (around customers, neighbourhoods and excellence). May be directed at residents, staff, stakeholders, partners or media.

5. Partnership Award

Sponsored by Riverside Group

Awarded to the best partnership, nominated by a Federation member involved in a partnership with organisations, from the public, private or voluntary sectors. You will need to specify the partnership clearly in your submission and provide information about the organisations that you are partner with. You should also obtain permission from the partner(s) before entering.

6. Independent Living and Older People Award

Sponsored by The Guardian

For the best scheme or project for people with special needs of any kind, including older people.

7. Diversity and Race Award

For the housing association which has made the best contribution to sustainable communities by offering housing and/or services that meet the needs of black and minority ethnic customers and others.

8. Best Neighbourhood Design Award - The Liveability test

(new) For the homes that housing association's have built ten years on. This can be for shared ownership, social housing and specialist housing. Nominations have to be from tenants.

9. Greener Neighbourhoods Award

Sponsored by Smith and Williamson

(new) This is for the housing association who has contributed to improving the public space around the homes that they manage.

10. What We Are Proud Of Award

Sponsored by Hays Social Housing

(new) For the housing association which has made a significant impact on their local community in the last two years. Nominations are from board members or tenants. This category is individual as the winner will be drawn from regional heats and the final winner selected by board members.

11. Overall Winner

The overall winner for the Awards will be selected from the other category winners by a panel of judges. They will be looking for the most outstanding contribution to iN business for neighbourhoods. The Overall Winner should demonstrate innovation, commitment to neighbourhoods, customers, excellence and evidence of change.
